WHAT’S THE JOB?  TERRITORY SERVICE MANAGER

WHO’S THE EMPLOYER?  A major global manufacturer of tractors, combines and related products, with a manufacturing presence in all 5 continents, and sales and distribution networks throughout 175+ countries. With a significant proportion of its budget devoted to research and innovation, this is an employer of considerable prestige and global standing.

WHERE IS THE ROLE LOCATED? Midlands / North of England

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE ROLE? You are an experienced Technical Professional from the agricultural machinery sector having acquired the requisite skills via a progressive career path to enable you to manage and support the dealer network within the assigned territory.

  • Ongoing management and development of the service function of the dealer outlets, focusing on dealer standards, efficiency and profitability
  • Develop the dealer’s service action plan, benchmarked against dealer standards and examining future requirements
  • Strong focus on dealer warranty practices, ensuring timely return of claims and correct submission of data to support the claim
  • Provide technical feedback to National Service Manager
  • Management and prompt resolution of customer dispute situations in conjunction with dealer personnel
  • Understand the training requirements of the dealer service personnel and take action where necessary in order to ensure appropriate service levels are delivered to the end user market
  • Communicate technical information and provide timely technical solutions where product performance falls below customer expectations
  • Ensuring sustainability of the dealer service function in regard to their ability to support the product range
  • Maintain the Company and brand image in all dealer and end user interaction
  • Manage an operational budget within an agreed framework
  • Participate in shows and exhibitions as required, as well as customer factory visits

WHAT QUALITIES DO I NEED? 

  • Excellent standard of technical knowledge encompassing hydraulic, electric, drivetrain and engine systems within modern off-road vehicles, supported by a relevant engineering qualification
  • Strong portfolio of interpersonal and communication skills with excellent problem solving capabilities
  • Clear understanding of what is meant by dealer standards with the ability to implement and sustain them
  • Excellent knowledge of agriculture and the machinery market
  • A high standard of IT literacy, including MS Office, PC / Laptop and CRM system
  • Previous experience of working with dealers and distributors would be beneficial
  • The combined ability to work within a close-knit team environment and to operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • Located within or prepared to relocate to the territory
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
