Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB? TERRITORY SALES MANAGER

WHO’S THE EMPLOYER? Highly respected blue-chip manufacturer with a comprehensive global presence, excellent product portfolio and a highly visible focus on pushing the boundaries of technology and efficiency in agricultural machinery development.

WHAT’S THE INDUSTRY? Agricultural Machinery

HOW WILL I BE REWARDED? With an excellent salary and bonus package, vehicle and benefits

WHAT’S THE TERRITORY? Central and Northern England, East Anglia

WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE ROLE? Managing all dealer commercial activities within the assigned territory and tasked with achieving / exceeding the annual sales plan, this is a role requiring a switched-on business management mindset as well as plenty of practical hands-on experience with agricultural machinery, especially tillage and cultivation equipment, all-round knowledge of arable farming practices and empathy for the end user. Dealer inventory levels, assistance with end user deals, in-field demonstrations, product and sales training with dealer sales teams underpinned by a proactive approach to winning business are all important aspects of this excellent, well-rewarded home-based position.

WHAT QUALITIES DO I NEED?

  • Passionate about agricultural machinery, you’ll have spent time in the field / on the tractor seat, and have a genuine interest in the sector
  • You’ll need to be commercially experienced and your career history should show a minimum of 4 years’ agricultural machinery dealership or manufacturer / OEM sales experience with a consistent track record of achieving or exceeding targets
  • You should fully understand the manufacturer-dealer relationship from a commercial and people perspective, with the requisite interpersonal skills to develop productive business relationships to enable sales growth – you’ll be at home in the dealer principal’s office, farm office or tractor cab
  • You’re familiar with managing high volumes of equipment, ensuring dealers are sufficiently stocked relative to local farming activities and seasonal requirements
  • Comfortable with delivering formal presentations and product / sales training, you have the ability to clearly articulate a product and its features or a sales and marketing strategy
  • You’ll be switched on to using CRM and business support tools to aid sales, manage dealer stocks and ensure enquiries are followed up, with a good all-round standard of IT literacy
  • You’ll be both team player and self-starter, familiar with organising the majority of your schedule, booking appointments and planning visits efficiently
  • Prepared to travel regularly, but also switched on to the use of remote communications, you’ll ideally reside along the A1 / M1 corridor, approx. Leicester / Peterborough up to Leeds, and have a clean driving licence + trailer licence

WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW? If you’re keen to further your sales career with a renowned premium brand and have the requisite skills and experience, we would love to hear from you. Send us a copy of your latest CV (in complete confidence), and a little bit about yourself. You can send it directly to us – james.garrod@jptrett.com
