WHAT’S THE JOB? TECHNICAL SPECIALIST – TELEMATICS AND CONNECTED SERVICES

WHO’S THE EMPLOYER? WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE ROLE? Focused on maximising uptime for the brand’s flagship equipment range, this is a global product ownership role which leverages the data from machine telematic and monitoring systems in proactive, predictive services alerting dealers and end users to occurring or impending faults or breakdowns. Developing current services and assisting with the definition of future product development, the role requires an excellent technical pedigree in construction or related heavy equipment, first class communication, interpersonal and advanced IT skills and a strong sense of initiative. The role will chair and manage regular stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment with strategy in relation to digital services with maximum focus on beneficial customer outcomes and will represent the product group in global connected services meetings.

WHAT EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES DO I NEED? 

  • You’re an experienced technical / engineering professional from the construction or heavy equipment sector with at least 5 years in the industry, ideally degree level educated and with thorough knowledge of complex electrohydraulic and machine control systems
  • Your technical expertise will include knowledge of CANbus J1939 protocol
  • Ideally with experience in the OEM sector, you’ll be familiar with connected services, field service, technical support, uptime and telematic systems, technical help desk functions and remote support
  • You’ll bring a high standard of IT literacy to the role along with experience in data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills are required (you must be fluent in spoken and written English), and you can work effectively with remote-based colleagues. Additional language skills would be welcome
  • Well organised, a natural problem solver with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy, you can proactively drive a project within a given timeframe, underpinned by high professional standards and the ability to work under pressure
  • You have practical experience with construction equipment, capable of understanding and voicing operator requirements to ensure a customer-focused approach
  • You’ll have well developed abilities in encouraging strong cooperation and performance from diverse teams in various markets, showing emotional intelligence of cultural awareness
  • Living in any EU market close to major transport hubs, you will be flexible on international travel (approx. 30%) and able to work with colleagues in different time zones
