WHAT’S THE JOB? – CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY AREA SALES MANAGER

WHO’S THE EMPLOYER? A commercially successful machinery dealership representing some of the leading Global and European brands in the industry with locations across the Southeast

WHAT’S THE INDUSTRY? Construction Machinery

WHERE IS THE ROLE LOCATED? West Sussex

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE ROLE? A dynamic and fast-paced role, reporting to the Branch & Sales Manager as part of a team of construction machinery professionals, you will be responsible for the sale of construction equipment in a designated area of Sussex. The Branch has a well-established customer base with whom you will build long-term and successful business relationships, and you will also seek out and develop new business opportunities with new clients and in other sectors.
  • To understand the individual features and benefits of the Company’s key construction machinery franchises in order to actively promote them to existing and potential customers
  • To be proactive in the sales process by attending customer sites
  • Dealing with customers on a day to day basis, both face to face, by phone and email
  • To meet and exceed agreed targets of the sales and promotion of specific construction machinery franchises within a designated area
  • Manage existing customer accounts and identify opportunities to build new relationships with customers to increase sales potential
  • To assist with sales administration where required
  • Positively promote the Company image and its products
  • Attend trade shows where required
  • Keep up to date with franchised products by attending training courses either locally, regionally or overseas
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstrable and successful previous sales experience
  • A healthy knowledge of the Construction industry and its equipment
  • A well-developed suite of customer service skills
  • Target-driven, capable of both achieving and exceeding targets
  • Good administrative organisation and a competent level of IT skills
  • Be self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
  • Commercially astute and able to close a deal
  • Hands-on, with the ability to demonstrate equipment effectively and to its full potential
  • Full driving license
